Hominy is corn that has been stripped of their bran and germ. Especially popular in the south, whole or ground hominy is boiled until it's tender and then served as a side dish. It can also be served as a cereal, vegetable and can even be made into patties and fried.
Cooking Instructions
- White Hominy Grits
- 3 cups water
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 cup grits
- Bring water and salt to a boil. Add grits
- and reduce heat. Cook slowly for about 5
- minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from
- heat, cover and let stand for a couple
- minutes. Makes 4 gererous servings.
