Hominy is corn that has been stripped of their bran and germ. Especially popular in the south, whole or ground hominy is boiled until it's tender and then served as a side dish. It can also be served as a cereal, vegetable and can even be made into patties and fried.


Cooking Instructions

  1. White Hominy
  2. 1 cup dry hominy
  3. 4 cups cold water
  4. Soak hominy in water overnight. Add 1/2 or 1
  5. tsp. salt and cook. Makes 6 servings. Serve
  6. hot with browned butter in place of potatoes.

  7. Optional cooking method:

  8. cook approx. 3 1/2hr
  9. in crockpot on high, stirring occasionally.
