Use this shoo-fly pie mix to create an old fashioned wet-bottom molasses pie. This pie has a gooey bottom, cake-like middle and crumb topping that is a traditional Pennsylvania Dutch dessert.


Cooking Instructions

  1. Pour 16 fl.oz. syrup into mixing bowl. Add 1
  2. cup hot water. Stir until well blended. Add
  3. 1 1/2 cups crumbs and stir gently. Do not
  4. beat. Let stand 10 minutes. Stir mixture
  5. again to remove settling from bottom and pour
  6. into unbaked shell. Sprinkle remaining crumbs
  7. evenly over top. Bake at 350 degrees for 1
  8. hour or until golden brown. Makes 1 (9inch)
  9. pie. For 34 (9 inch) pies, use 34 cups hot
  10. water,2 1/2 gallons syrup and 51 cups crumbs.
