Homemade Wonderful Bread Mix can be made by hand or in your bread machine. The bread can also be made dairy free. This mix is especially designed for those sensitive to gluten, but enjoyed by everyone. This moist, flavorful bread is ideal for sandwiches, toast, bread crumbs, croutons, and other dishes that start with a basic loaf of bread. Contains garbanzo flour, potato starch, corn starch, sorghum flour, tapioca flour, evaporated cane juice, fava flour, xanthan gum, potato flour, sea salt, guar gum, soy lecithin, and a yeast packet. Makes one 1-1/2 lb. loaf.


Cooking Instructions

  1. G/F Homemade Wonderful Bread Mix
  2. (for Conventional Oven)
  3. 1-2/3 cups warm (110 degrees) milk (cow,
  4. rice or soy)
  5. 1 whole egg plus enough egg whites to equal
  6. 3/4 cup
  7. 1/4 cup melted butter or vegetable oil
  8. 1 tsp. cider vinegar
  9. PLACE contents of package in large bowl of
  10. heavy-duty, tabletop mixer. Remove yeast
  11. packet and add yeast to warm milk in
  12. separate bowl. Let foam for 5 minutes. ADD
  13. eggs, melted butter or oil, vinegar, and
  14. yeast-milk mixture to bread mix. MIX with
  15. regular beaters (not dough hook) at medium
  16. speed for 3 minutes, scraping down sides of
  17. bowl with spatula as necessary. Place dough
  18. in greased 9 x 5-inch nonstick pan. Smooth
  19. top of dough with wet spatula. COVER with
  20. oiled aluminum foil or plastic wrap and let
  21. rise in warm (75-80 degrees) place until
  22. dough is level with top of pan (approximately
  23. 25-35 minutes). Remove cover. BAKE at 375
  24. degrees for 60-65 minutes (do not underbake).
  25. Cover with foil after 10 minutes to prevent
  26. over-browning. To test for doneness, tap loaf
  27. with fingernail. A crisp, hard sound
  28. indicates a properly baked loaf. Turn loaf
  29. out on to wire rack and cool thoroughly
  30. before slicing.
  31. **Need to add 2.5 tsp of active dry yeast for
  32. every pound of mix.
